While Windows 10 Mobile may not be receiving any new builds, users are still receiving app updates, partly thanks to the Universal Windows Platform (UWP). One of those apps that is still being maintained is Microsoft Photos.
Windows 10 Mobile Insiders on the Fast ring have received a new update (via Aggiornamenti Lumia) to the default photos app, bringing it to version 18011.13438.0. This update brings some major changes that bring the app more inline with that of its PC counterpart.
In addition to the design and layout reminiscing the PC app, Windows 10 Mobile users can now make use of new editing tools, such as Improve and Rule. Drawing and writing over images is now available as well. There’s now a button for full-screen mode, as well as a Play button for videos.
Unfortunately however, some users have reported seeing considerable reductions in app performance with this update, but keep in mind that this is a preview for Fast Ring Insiders.
