Apex Legends season 16 will kick off next week with the launch of the Revelry Update. The new update will be available on Tuesday, February 14th and promises to be one of the most significant since the game’s launch 4 years ago. What’s in store with the Revelry Update? Find out below.
Team Deathmatch and Mixtape modes
Team Deathmatch is coming to Apex Legends with the Revelry Update; it will replace the Arenas mode, which is being scrapped. Team Deathmatch will feature 6-player teams competing in first-to-30-kills, best of three matches.
Also, a Mixtape mode will arrive in March. Mixtape mode will feature a rotating playlist of limited-time game modes from previous seasons.
Remastered Legend classes
For the first time in Apex Legends, season 16 will take a break from introducing a new Legend with each season. Instead, the team at Respawn has decided to overhaul the existing roster as well as implement a rework of the class system. Legends will now be assigned one of five classes (while retaining their individual abilities). The five new classes are:
- Assault
- Recon
- Skirmisher
- Controller
- Support
Each class will have its own unique perk, and new buffs and nerfs will be implemented to help balance the game further. More info will become available when the patch notes for the Revelry Update are released.
Anniversary event
Since February is the anniversary month for Apex Legends, the team will be celebrating with a slew of in-game rewards including login rewards. Also, each map in the rotation will have special decorations to mark the occasion. The team also hints that there will be a surprise in store for Apex Legends fans…
Other additions
As with each new season, season 16 will feature a new Battle Pass with new in-game goodies like Legend and weapon skins, gun charms, emotes and more. Those with access to EA Play, including Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, can redeem perks with monthly EA Play Rewards.
Additionally, a new weapon will be introduced with the Revelry Update: the Nemesis Burst Rifle. Also returning from previous seasons will be the Rampage Light Machine Gun, and the Volt Submachine Gun and Longbow DMR will be craft-able on the Replicator.
