Beta Channel Insiders are getting new builds today as Microsoft is releasing another new set of builds – 22621.1245 and 22623.1245. As a reminder, Microsoft has split the Beta Channel into further delineations, with the xxx21 branch having any new features off by default, while xxx23 have new features (potentially, at least) rolling out. These features do not show up for all testers regardless of which branch they’re in, but xxx21 testers will definitely not see the latest stuff.

New in this latest Beta Channel update is the inclusion of screen recording in the Snipping Tool, which started being included in the Dev Channel back in early December. Screen recording in the Snipping Tool in the Beta Channel will include the latest updates, that is the ability to pause while recording, along with performance and reliability improvements.

Build 22623.1245 gets its own list of fixes, be sure to check them out over at the Windows Insider blog, but both branches are getting a set of fixes, too, including some changes in .NET Framework updates:

  • New! This update changed the experience for preview .NET Framework updates. After you installed this update, all future preview (optional) .NET Framework updates would be displayed on the Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates On that page, you could control which optional updates you wanted to install.

Both branches also include fixes for ReFS, problems with Windows Server 2022 Domain Controllers, issues with COM+ deadlocks, searchindexer.exe randomly stopping sign ins or sign outs, and quite a few more. Be sure to check out the blog post for all the details.
