Microsoft’s latest addition to the Windows Insider program is here with build 25247 for the Windows 11 Dev Channel. This new build includes some features already released for the Beta Channel, including Energy Recommendations, and Task Manager improvements, and also adds a new consolidated cloud storage bar in Settings>Accounts that shows your cloud storage usgage across products and Microsoft 365 apps and services.
This is important as Microsoft has recently made some changes to the way Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft 365 Personal and Family Outlook.com, handle storage. Previously, these services had their own storage limits, but as of February 1, 2023 that’s about to change, and any storage, including attachments etc. stored in Outlook.com will count against your OneDrive storage limits. For most people this probably won’t matter much, but if you have a lot of stuff in Outlook.com, and a lot of stuff in OneDrive, you could hit your storage limits and “your ability to send and receive emails in Outlook.com will be disrupted.”
There are a number of changes, fixes, improvements and known issues for this build, be sure to check out the Windows Insider blog post for all the latest. There’s also a new addition to the latest version of the Microsoft Store app (version 22210.1401) that adds jump list navigation to the store, so you can “get handy shortcuts to department pages in Store, as well as products you’ve recently visited – all by right-clicking on the Store taskbar icon.”
