After installing the Windows build 25179 update, some Windows Insiders quickly noticed something unusual happening on the taskbar. The unusual thing is that Microsoft is testing new icon flyout animation and appears to be currently a part of A/B testing, as it’s showing up for some but not others. But users can force-enable it by using ViVeTool, a third party tool to help enable hidden Windows 11 Insider features.
As mentioned over on Neowin, the new update brings a taskbar animation in Windows 11, the new taskbar ditches the old fly-up animation in favor of a new zoom-in variant. Take a look at the comparison of new animations.
After some messing with ViVeTool, here's what I found out about this animation (in the latest Dev build, 25179):
This new animation seems to be used in place of the old one if the 39072097 ID is enabled (which is the one that also enables the new search button designs) https://t.co/e1wLnaHwFR

ViVeTool users can also enable new taskbar animation in Windows 11 build 25179 using this ID: ViveTool /enable /id:39072097.
