Microsoft kicked off its Future Decoded event in London this morning, where Corporate VP of Devices Panos Panay unveiled the new Surface Pro with LTE Advanced. “Surface Pro with LTE Advanced is the latest addition to the Surface family and will begin shipping to business customers in December 2017,” Panos Panay announced in a blog post. “With a Cat 9 modem, Surface Pro with LTE Advanced is the fastest LTE-enabled laptop in its class. It delivers global connectivity with support of 20 cellular bands2 so you can work, study, create or relax uninterrupted”
Panos Panay made it clear that the device will be targeted at business users. “Surface Pro with LTE Advanced rounds out our family of ultimate laptops, giving businesses options to meet the needs of everyone in their workforce,” the exec explained. TechCrunch has some pricing information:
The most basic version of the Surface Pro with these new connectivity options (Intel i5, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD) will set businesses back $1,149 and the one with an i5 processor and double the RAM and SSD storage will cost $1,449.
