New Microsoft Xbox Mixed Reality job listing hints at “massively social gaming, entertainment experience” for Xbox, PC

There’s no hiding the fact that Microsoft is really pushing mixed reality as the next big thing, but could the company also be bringing a new and exclusive mixed reality game to Xbox and Windows 10 PC? A job listing spotted by well known Microsoft leaker WalkingCat suggests so, hinting at a “massively social gaming, entertainment experience” for Xbox, and PC.”

The listing, seen at the Microsoft Careers website, calls out for a Senior Design Manager to join the Windows and Devices Group. It specifically mentions a set of prerequisite skills for potential applicants, including having “shipped Shipped at least 3 AAA consumer entertainment products,” and “7+ years’ experience in the design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and a strong understanding of designing in 3D.”  You can read the full description below.

Microsoft has previously hinted that mixed reality could be heading to the Xbox One and Project Scorpio in 2018, saying at the Game Developer’s Conference that, “VR experiences have already proven themselves for gaming via Rift, Vive, and PlayStation VR, but the augmented side has its merits too.”And, since Xbox is known for exclusive titles such as Forza and Halo, Microsoft might as well be looking for someone with the skills to perhaps aid in the development of a new mixed or augmented reality Xbox Play Anywhere title.
