Back in 2019, Microsoft revealed that 10 Final Fantasy video games would be coming to the Xbox Game Pass library in 2020.
While Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII: Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy XV where all added to the subscription service at one time or another, Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy X-2: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII 2, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII never made an appearance.
TA reached out to Microsoft and asked about the status of these additions and, fortunately for Final Fantasy fans, it seems that all six of these missing titles are still on the way. They were simply delayed for some unknown reason.
“As we announced at X019, we are excited to bring the Final Fantasy franchise to gamers with Xbox Game Pass,” the Microsoft spokesperson told TA. “We have done so throughout 2020 and will continue to do so in 2021 and beyond. We look forward to announcing specific launch dates for more Final Fantasy titles in the future.”
