At the Windows 10 devices event on Tuesday, we were treated to another exciting HoloLens demo that showed off a game called Project X-ray. Microsoft also took an opportunity to announce a developer kit for HoloLens, which will be available in the first quarter of 2016 for the price of $3000.
Microsoft also stated at the event that HoloLens would be going on a tour of the U.S. so that people can get some hands-on time with the product and learn how to create ‘holographic experiences’. Today, the company has posted a list of eleven cities and dates where HoloLens can be experienced. Those cities are:
- Seattle Oct 13 – 16
- Toronto Oct 19 – 22
- Salt Lake City Oct 20 – 22
- Chicago Oct 26 – 29
- San Francisco Oct 26 – 30
- Los Angeles Nov 2 – 5
- New York City Nov 2 – 5
- Minneapolis Nov 9 – 11
- Phoenix Nov 10 – 12
- Atlanta Nov 17 – 19
- Austin Nov 17 – 20
If you’re lucky enough to live near one of these cities, you really should take the opportunity to see the Microsoft HoloLens in person. There are still several questions about this hardware, such as the size of the field of view, which can only be answered by experiencing the product first hand.
If you’re interested in attending one of these HoloLens events, you need to register first, and that can be done on this page.
