Microsoft may have announced the next-generation Xbox One earlier this week, but the software giant couldn’t register domain names for the new console in an attempt to keep the new Xbox name a secret.
Now, it appears that Microsoft is looking to acquire XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net, which is currently owned by a private resident living in the United Kingdom. Since the software giant announced the new console earlier this week, Microsoft is looking to hurry up and snag the domains. A bit of a trade off for keeping the name a secret.
Microsoft filed the complaint with the National Arbitration Forum in an attempt to snag these domains, if not other Xbox One related domains as well. Microsoft is known to have a lot of success when it comes to snagging up domains this way, so it’s only a matter of time.
