In an official blog post, Microsoft has announced the addition of new categories to the Bing Autosuggest feature. Bing Autosuggest will now showcase brands, movies, albums, places, software, sport teams, animal species and more.

“For example, consider the word “pitbull”. This is an interesting search because you may want results for the artist (a person) or the dog (a breed). Because only you can tell us which one you’re interested in finding, we serve up thumbnails with both the person and the dog. These are very different things that just happen to have the same name. But, Bing understands the difference and gives you the opportunity to select the right one,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

According to Microsoft, Bing uses a technology called “Satori” that helps understand the relationship between people, places, and things. Using this technology, Microsoft is able to allow Bing to offer the most appropriate choices within milliseconds.

Microsoft is constantly updating and adding new features to it’s Bing search engine, and today’s announcement of added categories to Bing Autosuggest should come as no surprise. Microsoft promises more updates in the near future to include more people, places, and things to Bing.g months.
