Microsoft’s official Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote apps all received an update today for Android devices which finally gave them the new-look icons that have already been implemented on Windows 10 and iOS.
The Excel, PowerPoint, and Word updates were purely about adding the new icons, however, the OneNote update added new functionality for Sticky Notes and fixed a cursor bug.
Here’s the official release notes for the OneNote update:
- Add images to Sticky Notes: Insert images from your device or directly from your camera.
- Fixed a typing issue where the cursor would occasionally jump after using auto-correct.
Microsoft revealed the new design aesthetic for their apps in late-2018 though they were gradually rolled out over the following six months as opposed to launching immediately. With these four apps having finally gotten their new looks, most of the most-popular Microsoft apps are now rocking the new app icon designs across Windows 10, iOS, Android, and the web.
