With the recent launch of the Windows 8 Release Preview, many users have been searching for the Windows Media Center to no avail. Turns out, Windows Media Center is not preinstalled in the Release Preview. However, there is a little trick that can be done to make it work.
According to Microsoft, simply swipe from the right edge of the screen or hover your mouse cursor on the upper-right corner of the screen and hit “Search”. Then search for “add features” and then select “Add features to Windows 8.”
Once you do that, select “I already have a product key” and enter MBFBV-W3DP2-2MVKN-PJCQD-KKTF7 as your key. Hit next and accept the license and terms.
Windows 8 Release Preview will restart and Windows Media Center will now be pinned to the Start Screen. Enjoy!
