Moments ago, the Windows team unceremoniously released a cumulative update for the Windows 10 Insider preview program. Unfortunately, at the time of the release, the Windows team had little to share in the way of information as to what the newly minted 14393.3 version addressed.
As many may have suspected, the bump from build 14393 to 14393.3 was a technical one that was undoubtedly released to address some minor bug fixes, apply some stability and performance improvements.
While much of that is true, the Windows team has tipped the Cumulative Update (KB3176925) as being a bit more than a vaguely performance associated release. Taken from the Announcement section in the Windows 10 Insider Feedback Hub, the Windows team describes the cumulative update as such:
- We have fixed an issue where keyboard input on some Windows tablet devices would not rotate to landscape normally.
- We have fixed an issue that resulted in Windows Updates being delayed on systems with Connected Standby.
- We have fixed a problem with text input with Korean Input Method Editor (IME) in some Store apps
- We fixed an issue causing Store apps to stop launching due to a licensing issue
- We have fixed an issue with apps that synchronize using DDE for inter-process communication.
There we have it. Cumulative Update (KB31176925) has been release to address some rather sticky issues while adding a bit more fit and finish, to what many believe is the Release to Manufacturer (RTM) build that will eventually land on consumer devices.
