About a month back, we reported on how the “Double Tap to Wake” feature could come back to Lumia 950 devices if enough of you expressed your support for it through Microsoft Feedback. Looking at the latest news, it looks like you all took that to heart – and did so quite effectively. One of the Microsoft Feedback posts that requested Microsoft to bring the Double Tap to Wake feature to Lumia 950 just got a response that confirms the feature is being worked on, and will hopefully be rolling out to any devices that could support it soon.
The response is short, sweet, and to the point. All we know at this point is that sometime in the future Microsoft will be implementing “Double Tap to Wake” on compatible devices sometime in the future, presumably on Lumia 950 and 950 XL. The feature used to be around on the Lumia 1520, but has been missing from later models, leaving Lumia customers scratching their head at why the feature was removed in the first place. Let’s hope that we hear more news in the near future that might indicate a list of compatible Windows 10 Mobile devices and a window for release.
Thanks to Ayde for the tip!
