Bing Chat’s “Precise Mode” gets ‘a pretty big update’, reveals Microsoft

Bing Chat’s precise mode has received a big upgrade, improving the answers, revealed by Mikhail Parakhin, CEO of Advertising & Web Services at Microsoft via X. This is great news for users who rely on Bing Chat for accurate and concise information.

Finished rolling out a pretty big update in our Precise mode of Bing Chat – no new features, just better answers. A few people noticed, in a "Creative has gotten worse – now even Precise is better" form, of course 🙂 Give it a try!

While balanced and creative modes might be more attention-grabbing due to their versatility and ability to generate imaginative responses, the precise mode serves a crucial purpose in delivering reliable and well-informed answers.

Bing Chat’s three response modes are:

  • Creative: This mode generates more imaginative answers and images, useful for brainstorming, creative writing, and idea generation.
  • Balanced: This mode provides a balance between creativity and accuracy. It is useful for answering questions and engaging in conversation.
  • Precise: This mode provides concise answers, and summaries, or generates code.

By improving the answers in precise mode, Microsoft is likely addressing concerns about the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content, which is crucial for building trust in AI-powered solutions. Users who rely on precise responses will likely benefit from this upgrade, as it can lead to more effective and trustworthy interactions with AI models.
