Age of Empires: Castle Siege adds tutorials and fixes in latest update

Age of Empires: Castle Siege has just updated on PC and mobile devices, bringing itself to “Patch 1.17”. The latest update has added quite a few new features to the game, among the most significant being the much-needed tutorial mode which is designed to better educate players on how to actually play the game a year or so after its launch.

Up until now, players were only given a brief introduction to the game mechanics and memorising the numerous troops, many of which look near-identical, was a task that was mastered only by those who could afford to dedicate several hours a day to studying the game, and wasn’t something that could be easily understood by casual players who only play for a few minutes at a time.

Several mini-tutorials have also been added to the game to explain different sections and a variety of new civilization statue honor items have been added. A new Daily Combat Reward system to encourage players to attack other players by giving them a reward boost during the first battle they fight every day was also added.

Other changes include online and offline statuses for Alliance members, requirement adjustments to the Level 4 and Level 5 Siege Towers, a redesigned victory screen, better item sorting in the Marketplace, new country flags for Pakistan and Romania, new honor flags for the in-game civilisations, and better notification controls.

In addition to all of these new features and changes, a large number of bugs were also fixed to improve overall stability and to create a more enjoyable play experience.

Age of Empires: Castle Siege is a touch version of the classic Age of Empires game that’s been simplified and streamlined for smaller devices. The game features cloud syncing between Windows 10, Windows phone, and iPhone versions and Xbox Achievements can be earned on each platform.

Are you a regular player of Age of Empires: Castle Siege? What other changes would you like to see made? Let us know in the comments below.
