It’s been a busy week so far at Ignite 2016, but according to Neowin, a Microsoft Ignite session titled “Discover what’s next for Windows 10 Mobile for phones and small tablets,” revealed some more details about what is coming to Windows 10 Mobile in Redstone 2. Customized Start screens, a Proximity Connect feature, and an improved PC like experience are all set to come to Continuum in Windows 10 Mobile.
Leading off the set of Redstone 2 features is the ability to put your phone to sleep without it killing off your Continuum experience, as well as a new Proximity Connect feature that will allow you to connect to a wireless display. Additionally, another new long awaited feature coming to Redstone 2 is the ability to customize your Continuum start screen experience independently from the Start Screen already seen on your phone.
Fourth on the list is the ability to put apps in customizable window sizes, and snapping apps side by side (like with tablet mode on Windows 10 desktops and tablets.) Pinning apps to the taskbar while in Continuum mode, and the ability to bulk update devices via USB are also coming to Redstone 2. Lastly, Several other developer features are also coming, such as new audit options and support for and SMS logging, and new management features for Wi-Fi direct.
