Netflix, the popular movie and video streaming service, is rolling out a new Windows 10 Universal app coming to the 100 some countries where the service is available. The new app, an “entirely new implementation”, takes advantage of all that the Universal Windows Platform has to offer, including building the application up from a single code base, and although the app being released today is only for Windows 10 PCs and tablets, Windows 10 Mobile support is “coming soon”, according to a Netflix blog post.
The Browse experience has been completely updated, featuring large “cinematic” images for each show or movie, with Details views showing episode information for TV shows, and suggestions for other movies to watch in Movies:
As you would expect, live tiles are supported, and Cortana integration is built in, allowing users to search for particular titles on Netflix just using voice. You can download the new Netflix app from the Windows Store, and stay tuned as we wait for the upcoming Windows 10 Mobile app.
