In a recent announcement, OpenAI shared that their popular language model, ChatGPT, has once again been equipped with the ability to scour the internet for updated, reliable information. The new feature, known as Browse with Bing, allows ChatGPT to provide answers directly from current and authoritative sources, supplementing its responses with proper citations.

While the feature is currently accessible only to Plus and Enterprise subscribers, OpenAI plans to make it available to all users in the near future.
Before this latest release, Bing Chat, integrated within Windows, the Edge browser, and third-party browser plugins, had the capability to fetch live information from the web.
Similarly, Google’s Bard, present in Chrome and other browsers, offered real-time website results alongside search queries. Both Bing Chat and Bard provided hyperlinks when presenting search results, a functionality that OpenAI’s Browse with Bing feature now encompasses.
While utilizing ChatGPT to browse the web may initially seem a bit perplexing, OpenAI has provided instructions for the browser version of the model. Unfortunately, the company has not yet shared the same guidelines for the iOS app.
Nonetheless, for those with subscriptions, it can be achieved by following these steps: access the three dots menu, proceed to Settings, locate the New Features section, and enable Browse with Bing. Once the setting is activated, initiate a new chat, select GPT-4, and opt for the “Browse with Bing” option. Subsequently, your search queries will yield information sourced from current websites.
