Microsoft has been consistently sending out new features as well as improvements to its browser Edge in a bid to enhance its user experience. And as it now seems, the company is currently working on a new project dubbed “Phoenix” first spotted by WalkingCat on Twitter.
The project is in place to revamp the Microsoft Edge browser and make it stand out from other browsers like Google Chrome or Firefox. The changes could see the browser get a fluent redesign, one that closely resembles Windows 11 as well as better integration with Windows and new neat features designed to promote productivity.
It seems that Microsoft has already started testing out some parts of this “refreshed Edge” with Edge Insiders using flags. As we had earlier reported, Microsoft has started testing out a new feature that lets users split one window into two tabs in Edge. Perhaps, this could be one of the neat features that ship with the revamped Edge. Windows Central’s Zac Bowden also reports that the project might also feature rounded tabs.

Microsoft also has another feature in the works called Tab Activity Center which will help users keep track of their usage.
Besides, this isn’t the first time Microsoft has redesigned the look and feel of its products and services to be more. modern and sleek-looking. As is the case with the Microsoft Reward program which got a Fluent redesign last year in December, one that closely resembles Windows 11.
Microsoft is yet to officially announce the launch of Edge Phoenix and how it plans to roll it out. We will just have to wait and see. Share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
