It’s no secret that Ariana Grande was going to be the focus of the upcoming Fortnite Rift Tour event later this week but the actual in-game look of the iconic performer had been well-guarded until now.
Epic Games this week revealed two different looks for Ariana Grande’s Fortnite skin that are going to be used both in the Rift Tour event and as an outfit in the Fortnite in-game store for players to purchase with V-Bucks.
The first appearance (see top image) shows Grande in a modern metallic outfit that most would expect to see during a concert while the second look is more inspired by the rift portals and crystals that frequently appear in Fortnite. Given that this concert will actually take players through various dimensions via rifts, hence the Rift Tour name, it makes sense that Grande would sport some kind of rift aesthetic.
Here’s a brief teaser of the Fortnite Ariana Grande Rift Tour event that offers glimpses of both appearances.
Long-time Fortnite players may notice the surprise appearance of the Storm King in the above trailer. This character is a boss in the Save the World game mode which kind of works as Fortnite’s campaign or story mode. The Storm King has a connection to The Cube which is expected to return to Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 8. It’s unclear if the Storm King will make an appearance as well.
A teaser for Ariana Grande’s back bling was also released.
Fortnite’s Rift Tour event will run at set times from August 6th through to the 8th. Local times are displayed within the Rift Tour tab in the Battle Royale mode.
