Microsoft unveiled this morning two new Xbox Controllers that will join the previously released Shock Blue and Pulse Red Controllers. The new Electric Volt Controller uses a never seen before “yellow resin” color on the top with a white back case, while the Daystrike Camo Special Edition Controller is a new red variant in the company’s Camo series of controllers.
“For the first time ever, the Daystrike Camo Special Edition incorporates textured grip across the entire top surface of the bumpers to keep your grip locked in and on target,” the Xbox team explained today. Moreover, these two new controllers will be the first models to incorporate post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins in a new effort to reduce waste.
“We expect no compromises from these recycled materials either, as our testing shows the materials provide the same controller durability or performance you have come to expect,” the Xbox team said. The new Electric Volt Xbox Controller will be available for $64.99 beginning April 27, and the Daystrike Camo Special Edition Controller will start shipping on May 4 at a $69.99 price.
Microsoft will likely continue to release other variations of its new Xbox Wireless Controller throughout the year, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a Limited Edition Halo Infinite controller later this year. The Xbox Design Lab is also expected to re-open its doors later this year to allow Xbox fans to create their ideal controller
