Microsoft has just announced the release of the Milestones and Bulletins apps in Teams. These apps are built on the Microsoft Power Platform to allow users to manage, track, and collaborate on group projects within the Teams collaboration platform.
The Milestones app in Teams helps managers to stay on top of their work by efficiently tracking projects and initiatives across the organization. It provides tools for setting up projects and work items, assigning work items to employees, and classifying work items by milestones. The app makes it easier to view team status and work item updates right within the app while eliminating the need to switch platforms.
However, the Bulletins app brings the ability for employees to access all company communication right within Microsoft Teams. With this release, project teams will be able to read broadcasts, memos, announcements, and company news. The app enables users to create/categorize bulletin news, search and read posts, and bookmark them to read later.
“Both are deeply integrated within Teams, but what makes them unique is that they are built with Power Apps on top of the recently released Dataverse for Teams. By shipping them on top of Dataverse for Teams, we’re making it possible for you to fully customize these apps from top to bottom and to leverage them as inspiration to build your own apps,” the company explained.
Finally, Microsoft says that these Power apps can be easily extended or customized with its Power Platform to meet the specific needs of your company. To help users get started, Redmond giant has published separate guides for using the Milestones and Bulletins apps within Teams.
You can try the Milestone app by adding it to Teams here. The Bulletins app is also available here, too. Both are separate apps in Teams, available through the Teams store, for free.
