While Microsoft has already finalized Windows 10 May 2020 update (20H1) which is expected to release later this month, the Redmond giant has remained tight-lipped on the release date until now. However, a new blog post by Microsoft itself revealed as to when we should expect the company to begin the public rollout.
According to a recent post about the updated Driver Shiproom Schedule for this year (via Windows Latest), the next feature update for Windows 10 (in that case the May 2020 Update) could ship at some point between May 26 and May 28. So, if Microsoft sticks with this plan, you should expect the feature update to land on any of these three days (26th, 27th, and 28th May). Albeit, Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet reported earlier this month telling us that the possible rollout date could be May 28.
Until now, all signs seem to indicate Microsoft’s intention to push back Windows 10 May 2020 update to the last week of this month, and today’s leak seems to confirm this anticipation. For those don’t know, Microsoft releases the Driver Shiproom Schedule for OEM developers so that they comply with monthly Patch Tuesday and feature updates. Proceeding this way allows PC manufacturers to improve the reliability of driver updates while avoiding conflicts.
In case you missed, Microsoft rolled out last week an incremental build for Insiders in the Release Preview Ring, even though it was announced that Release Preview Ring Insiders were getting the final build with build 19041.207. However, it turned out that one more bug remained to be fixed in the build 19041.208.
