Microsoft released yesterday a Visual Studio 2019 Release Candidate for developers, just a couple of weeks ahead of the public launch on April 2 (via Neowin). There are many new features included in the latest version of the IDE, and you can check a detailed list on this page.
With Visual Studio 2019, Microsoft is also introducing two product channels: the release channel where you can get Visual Studio 2019 RC, and the preview channel where Visual Studio 2019 Preview 4 is available. “The preview channel will continue to offer an early look at upcoming features, just as you’ve become accustomed to in Visual Studio 2017,” the company explained yesterday.
Be aware that there are also Community, Professional, or Enterprise editions for either channel. The Professional and Enterprise Editions of the IDE have additional features, and Microsoft said yesterday that an upcoming version of Visual Studio Enterprise 2019 will bring a preview of Time Travel Debugging (TTD) integrated with the Snapshot Debugger.
You can download Visual Studio 2019 RC on this page, and Microsoft will continue to listen to developer feedback ahead of general availability. The company also plans a virtual launch event on April 2 that will start at 9AM PT.
