Last week on March 15, Microsoft released the March firmware update for Surface Pro and Surface Pro LTE Advanced devices. On both models, the update addresses a security issue in Microsoft Edge and also improves battery life and overall reliability, with no changes to device performance, compatibility, or connectivity.
On the Surface Pro LTE Advanced, the update bumps the Surface System Aggregator Firmware version numbers up. Here’s what you need to know:
- Surface System Aggregator Firmware – Firmware: 234.2110.770.0 resolves potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 180002.
- Surface System Aggregator Firmware – Firmware: 234.2110.1.0 improves battery reliability.
The same also applies to the standard Surface Pro, though the version numbers are a bit different:
- Surface UEFI – Firmware: 233.2110.770.0 resolves potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 180002.
- Surface System Aggregator Firmware – Firmware: 233.2111.256.0 improves battery reliability.
IT Pros are being reminded that Surface System Aggregator Firmware v233.2099.256.0 is required to install these latest updates. As always, everyone else should be seeing this firmware now under Windows Update.
