More details on the upcoming Forza Motorsport reboot are coming out ahead of the October 10 release. During Monday’s Forza Monthly livestream we were treated to another showcase of Turn 10’s latest racing sim with creative director Chris Esaki.
Notably, the nearly two-hour stream took a deep dive into Forza Motorsport’s gameplay features including AI Drivatars and tire physics.
On the former point Esaki says that the team has made leaps in the AI department, which has long been seen as one of Forza’s few shortcomings in past games. Esaki says that the AI has been tuned for a cleaner and more competitive experience, and adds that rubber-banding is absent in this new Forza.
Esaki also went into great detail talking about the game’s tire physics—another area of improvement Turn 10 has been touting. Esaki notes that the team has added a physics feature they call “noise texture,” which basically allows for a more lifelike and refined way for car’s tires to react to road surfaces compared to Forza Motorsport 7.
Speaking of which, the livestream included a side-by-side comparison between FM and FM7, showcasing the visual improvements coming in the reboot, which is an exclusively current-gen game.
Forza Motorsport releases on October 10, and will be available with Game Pass on day one.
