Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III confirmed with teaser trailer, November 10 release date

After weeks of speculation, much of which proved to be accurate, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has been confirmed.

We knew the announcement was coming this week, and the leading postulation that the 2023 installation of CoD would be a direct follow-up to last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was right on the money. Modern Warfare III will release on November 10.

Activision released a teaser trailer with the release date announcement and not much else in terms of game footage or any other new info. We’ll likely get that in a special Call of Duty Warzone event, probably on August 17.

It will be interesting to see if Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard buyout will close before this newest Call of Duty title releases. Either way, the enormously popular FPS franchise will remain multiplatform for the near future, as Microsoft signed a deal with Sony last month to keep the series on PlayStation for the next decade should the merger finally clear regulatory opposition—something which at this point seems very likely.
