Atomic Heart’s first DLC, “Annihilation Instinct,” is now available as of August 2.
The first of four planned DLC packs for the Bioshock-inspired dystopian FPS, Annihilation Instinct adds new weapons, new enemies and more to the game. As for those new weapons, they are:
- The Secateur: “a ranged weapon with 2 firing modes “
- The Klusha: “a melee weapon that can slash and pierce!”
Players will explore a new area—the Mendeleev Complex—including its swampy environs as they discover new narrative content.
They’ll also get access to a new glove ability: Technostasis, which they will need to take on new shapeshifting enemies.
Embark on a new, mind-bending journey with the Atomic Heart: Annihilation Instinct DLC and discover the truth about NORA’s story as Major P-3 is pulled back into Facility 3826. Meet an enigmatic Professor Lebedev to figure out how to suppress the AI’s insanity and curb its Annihilation Instinct.
Note that this and future DLCs are not included in the Game Pass version of Atomic Heart. It is, however, included in the Gold and Premium editions of the game, as well as with the newly introduced Atomic Pass. Annihilation Instinct is also available for $9.99 as a standalone purchase.
