Windows Phone 8.1's Cortana takes on Apple iPhone's Siri in this latest TV commercial (video)

Microsoft has uploaded a new video to its YouTube page, showcasing Windows Phone 8.1’s greatest feature — Cortana. But its not just any video about Cortana. In fact, the video pits Cortana against Apple’s Siri.

“Say hello to Cortana, your new personal assistant. Cortana will remind you to leave early to beat traffic and help you get to your destination on time, will remind you that you need milk when passing the grocery store, and will remind you to say happy birthday when your mom calls,” the video description reads.

As you will see in the advertisement, Microsoft has two smartphones sitting side by side. Siri is running on the iPhone 5s, while Cortana is running on Microsoft’s newest Lumia 635 Windows Phone 8.1 device.

Cortana can remind you about something specific the next time you speak to a particular person. On top of that, Cortana can let you know of a local flower shop (for example) when you are driving close to one.

We’ve embedded the video below for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.
