Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore has taken it to Twitter to reveal that a fix is now available for those of you experiencing error 8018830f when trying to update to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Developer Preview. Microsoft is citing a ‘packaging problem’ as the reason for the 8018830f error.
Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore acknowledge earlier this week that some users were indeed experiencing an error when trying to install Update 1. “Folks seeing error 8018830f on update- we’re looking into it, thx for letting us know. Its a very small %, so the rest of you keep going,” he stated. Belfiore also added that Microsoft thinks the issue is related to low system storage. “If you hit the update error, it’s unlikely that retrying will work. We think it’s related to low system storage. Give us some time,” he adds.
… if you hit update error 8018830F — the fix is out. It was a “packaging problem” with the update. Try again and it should work.

Unfortunately, some users are experiencing another issue when trying to update to the latest developer preview release. This issue deals with a low storage problem. If you are experiencing error 80188308, Belfiore suggests that you continue being patient as Microsoft works on a fix.
Still working on the “low storage” install prob 80188308. Note, this is not USER storage you can clear- it’s install partition. Sit tight.
