Along with a new Windows Mobile Insider build, users are now being greeted with the latest version of the Xbox App. Once users have successfully updated their devices to the latest Windows Insider Preview build, they can now travel down to the Store Beta and download the new app.
The Xbox App, similar to its PC counterpart, expands on the feature set of the Xbox SmartGlass Apps. Xbox users will now be able to access their activity feed, achievements, friends list, activity alerts, messaging, view Game DVR clips and connect to their Xbox One devices. According to the Xbox team, more features will be updated in the coming weeks.
Users can expect to see OneGuide integration, Live TV Streaming, Game Hubs and more. Now that the app has been yanked out of the OS, the Xbox team should be able to iterate with the same speed as they have been with Xbox One console. That could see the app receiving monthly performance tweaks and added features. With the way development is shaping up, the Xbox One and the new Xbox App are shaping up into a nice one-two combo. Stay tuned to WinBeta, we’ll have more on the latest Windows 10 for phones build coming soon!
