Windows 10 Redstone Insider Preview build 14251 is out and here are the known issues

Keeping true to their promise, the Windows team is releasing another Windows 10 Redstone Insider Preview build in January. The latest build for Insiders comes in at build number 14251 for PCs on the Fast Ring cycle of updates.

Per the Windows team earlier announcement, build 14251 for Windows 10 Insider Preview is mostly a bugfix and stability update. However, with most builds, Gabe Aul of the Windows team is also noting that there a few issues that are accompanying the latest preview for Insiders.

Known issues:

  • You might see a WSClient.dll error dialog after logging in. We’re working on a fix for this but as a workaround, you can run the following in Command Prompt with administrative rights: schtasks /delete /TN “\Microsoft\Windows\WS\WSRefreshBannedAppsListTask” /F
  • The Connect button does not show up in Action Center. The workaround is to press Windows key + P and then click “Connect to a wireless display”.
  • Due to a recent memory management change, you may see periodic app crashes or other memory related app errors. The workaround is to reboot your PC.

As usual, Insiders are encouraged to download and install builds at their convenience level, with that said, Fast Ring Insiders should be getting notified of the latest build release soon.

Happy downloading, Insiders!

Update: Microsoft added another known issue, specifically the inability to load F12 Developer Tools in the Edge Browser.
