Microsoft has a lot of work on their hands with Windows 10 for phones. Just recently, Microsoft released a new preview build of Windows 10 for phones, something eager testers have been itching for. But based on initial reaction and feedback, Microsoft still has a long way to go.
We’ve been tinkering with the operating system on our Lumia 830 and it looks gorgeous. Microsoft has given a visual overhaul to several key components of Windows Phone, making them better than ever.
For example, the new Phone and Messaging apps have received visual revamps. The Messaging app has a new visual design, and you can now easily upgrade from a messaging conversation to a voice call with the clock of the phone icon in the new app bar. Your messages now feature a circular icon at the left of each message, which will feature the photo of your contact.
Microsoft has also given the People app a new visual design, offering a comprehensive list of all your contacts across all services like Exchange, Outlook, Gmail, Facebook, and more. The whole point of the visual revamp is to make it easier to manage your contacts and quickly connect to them. The People app is a bit more organized now and features a search bar so you can quickly find a contact (whereas before you had to tap the search button at the bottom of the app).
Check out the images below to see the visual revamp for yourself. How do you like this revamp? What else should Microsoft do to make the Phone and Messaging app useful? Have you tested the recently released Windows 10 build for phones? How did you like it? Let us know in the comments below.
