Windows 10

Microsoft has pushed Windows 10 build 10240 to fast ring insiders today. For those who don’t know, build 10240 is being widely reported as the Windows 10 RTM, which was compiled just a few days ago. The update has started rolling out just now, so if you can’t see it yet give it a little bit of time for the update to roll out.

The official announcement reads:

Over the past few days we’ve been preparing our release pipelines and processes, and this build is one step closer to what customers will start to receive on 7/29. For example, you’ll notice with this build that the desktop watermark is no longer there (you can still do Search > Winver to see your version number.

Microsoft originally stated that they would not be rolling out the Windows 10 RTM to Insiders until July 29th, so it’s very interesting to see them backtrack on that statement. Perhaps 10240 isn’t the RTM after all?
