WhatsApp Beta users finally get voice calling functionality

The WhatsApp voice calling feature is already available on iOS and Android, giving users the ability to do voice calls with their contacts — Windows Phone users yet again have to wait longer than other users to enjoy new features. We’ve seen rumors hinting at the launch of the new feature for Windows Phone version of the app and it seems voice calling may finally make an appearance on Windows Phone.

As spotted by Windows Central, users enrolled in WhatsApp Beta program for Windows Phone are getting the voice calling feature in the latest build. If you’re enrolled in the beta program, you should get an update for the new build which will bump the version to 2.12.38. Some users even shared screenshots of the feature in action as well.

The public version of the app doesn’t have the feature, and there’s no word from the company on when the voice calling functionality will launch on Windows Phone. But now that the feature is available for beta users, it shouldn’t be too long before every Windows Phone user can enjoy the new functionality.
