Vodafone, a telecommunications company had recently released a list of upcoming software updates for Microsoft’s Lumia lineup. As we know, phone updates can be a sticky subject for consumers, with many never seeing the latest updates to their cell phones, missing out on many new features. For Microsoft, they have been vocal in wanting to take control and offer faster updates to their mobile operating system, to better aide their customers.
The current list from Vodafone shows upcoming updates to Windows 10 Mobile for the following Microsoft Lumia phones:
- Lumia 630
- Lumia 640
- Lumia 640XL
- Lumia 730
- Lumia 930
While not a complete list of all Microsoft Lumia phones on the market, this is still a good sign that Microsoft is working hard on its promise to have all their current phones updated soon to Windows 10 Mobile. This current update is awaiting final testing and should arrive by mid-January.
Recently, Microsoft was able to update all current Windows 10 Mobile users, bypassing the need for carriers to roll out the update. With this push for better control over updates it can only be a matter of time before our phones are updated as frequently as our computers.
