Even though AdDuplex said last month that the Windows 10 April 2018 update has been propagating faster on PCs from MSI, Dell, and Microsoft, Surface Studio owners have been left out in the cold until recently. Indeed, we’ve just learned that Microsoft was actually blocking the update on its Surface Studio all-in-ones, and this was due to a known incompatibility that caused connectivity issues with Bluetooth devices.
Microsoft has acknowledged the issue on its Community website, and the company announced last week that it has now been resolved. Here is the message that a Microsoft agent posted on June 1:
Microsoft was blocking Surface Studio from installing the April 2018 Update due to a known incompatibility that may have caused a connected Bluetooth accessory to stop responding. This block has now been removed and you should be able to install the April 2018 Update by checking Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Have you been able to install the Windows 10 April 2018 update on your Surface Studio? If so, let us know in the comments if you have any issues with Bluetooth devices.
Thanks Todd for the tip!
