Today, Microsoft released Skype 5.6 for Android with a visual overhaul to the app to provide, as the Skype team describes it, a “more delightful experience” as it’s “more beautiful to look at and even easier to use.”
The three main new refreshes highlighted in today’s update are:
- More chats are available at a quick glance in the Recent tab.
- Introduced round avatars with a more “polished and unified appearance” for the avatar pictures that also easily displays your friends’ online status.
- Adjusted the colors of chat bubbles to allow chat messages to show up more clearly, especially in group chats.
Today’s announcement also states the update brings a number of fixes and improvements to the app to increase stability.
