From the rumor mill: Next gen Xbox may launch in April

Xbox

Speculation on when Microsoft will release the next generation Xbox (Xbox Next or Xbox 720?) has already begun and a new report is indicating that Microsoft may be launching the new Xbox sooner than later. This new report claims that Microsoft will launch the next generation Xbox in April, thanks to the software giant being rattled by Sony’s PS4 announcement.

Apparently, Microsoft has registered the domain name xboxevent.com, which may indicate that an Xbox announcement is near. Sony already believes that they have caught Microsoft off guard with their PS4 announcement and believed they have “definitely ruffled some feathers” at Microsoft. Microsoft has yet to officially reveal any details about the new Xbox entertainment console, but details have since leaked about an always-on internet connection, better processor and graphics, as well as a new Kinect that will ship alongside the console. Microsoft may hold its own event in April to reveal some details about the new Xbox and then reveal the entire feature-set and device at E3 in June.
