Roku and Vevo apps for Windows 8.1 updated with new features and improvements

The official Roku and Vevo apps for Windows 8.1 have received new updates and are available for download right now in the Windows Store. Both updates add new features as well as various improvements.

The Roku app, for those that did not know, allows Roku users to control their Roku player over their home network. This new app update now allows you to search for movies, TV shows, actors, and directors, as well as display photos and music on your Roku Player or Roku TV. There is also a channel store feature.

The Vevo app on the other hand has been updated with two new high-definition TV channels, which includes Flow (R&B and hip-hop videos) and Nashville (country music). In addition to the new channels, the app now features Vevo Now, a 24/7 feed of new songs, playlists, and featured artists.

For those that didn’t know, Vevo offers the largest collection of premium official music videos. You don’t have to search YouTube to find Taylor Swift’s new music video (i’m looking at you Zac), just check out Vevo for the official videos.
