The first major Redfall patch has gone live. Let’s get the first thing out of the way: version 1.1 does not bring with it a 60FPS performance mode. That appears to be a ways off according to the development team at Arkane Austin, which included a message for fans over on the patch notes page on Bethesda.net.

We’re grateful to see that millions of you have explored the quaint but dangerous open world of Redfall. Building a play space this large has been humbling to say the least. We recognize that we still have work to do, and we plan to address as much as we can, as quickly as we can.

Once available, we will be sharing more information about future updates, including our 60 FPS Performance mode, on our official social channels.”

Today’s update for Redfall includes incremental improvements to gameplay, combat, AI, environment, stability, multiplayer, accessibility, UI, and various bug fixes.

What this first patch does implement is “incremental improvements to gameplay, combat, AI, environment, stability, multiplayer, accessibility, UI, and various bug fixes.” The team says that key areas of improvement in the patch include,

  • Enemy AI responsiveness
  • Enemy encounter frequency
  • Vampire combat efficiency
  • Improvements to graphical fidelity

As you likely know, Redfall suffered a dismal launch, and was met with poor reviews. Today’s patch is the first step toward rectifying the game’s many issues.
