OneDrive for Business will soon make it easier to copy or move files and folders – onmsft.com

Microsoft has detailed some improvements that it will be making to the Move/Copy experience in OneDrive for Business and SharePoint. According to a message sent out through the Microsoft 365 Admin center, the new feature will be generally available for both OneDrive for Business and SharePoint users in November.

The software giant is updating the Move/Copy feature with a refreshed user experience that should help to make copying and moving files and folders easier for users. The move/copy option currently opens a side panel that allows users to specify the destination for the files/folders being moved/copied to OneDrive, or another SharePoint site, which will change in the future. “When a user moves or copies a file or folder within OneDrive or SharePoint, they will see a new dialog-based experience to choose the destination for their content,” the company explained.

The firm says that it will gradually introduce updates to its services later this month and continue gathering feedback to fine-tune the changes. However, keep in mind that these improvements will not impact the existing Move/Copy capabilities and admin settings. In case you missed it, OneDrive for Business is also getting an improved command bar this month.
