November 2013 Patch Tuesday features eight security updates, three of which are critical

November 2013 Patch Tuesday takes place today and Microsoft is set to deliver eight security patches in total, with three of them being critical and five of them being important. Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system is set to receive three critical updates and one important update.

The three critical updates deal with Remote Code Execution and affect Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1. There is also one important update dealing with a Denial of Service attack, also affecting Windows 8.1. The remainder of the important updates address issues in Office and older versions of Windows.

Windows XP SP3, for those of you who are still on it, is slated to receive five updates, three of which are critical and one important update. Windows 7 SP1 users are slated to receive the same updates.

Microsoft is set to roll out these security updates later today, approximately 10AM PST. Head over to Windows Update to snag them or sit back and relax as Automatic Updates takes care of the heavy lifting for you!
