Earlier this morning, Windows Insider chief Dona Sarkar tweeted out what amounted to be a hint about a hint, which did not actually contain an Easter egg build number hidden in an image, as is her usual pre-build ritual, but noted that if a build *wasn’t* coming, she would let us know by 8am or so.
Well, unfortunately, as excited as that got us, it’s not to be, for today, anyway:
(1/2)#WindowsInsiders we wanted to release a bld today, but we are seeing a few n-1 update issues in morning Flightops
— Dona Sarkar (@donasarkar) March 7, 2017
(2/2) We will keep looking at selfhost & testing data to ensure smooth update and will hopefully flight tomorrow (Wed). #WindowsInsiders
— Dona Sarkar (@donasarkar) March 7, 2017
And as far as what “n-1” means, in case you’re wondering, Sarkar provided an explanation:
N = build that's in selfhost
N-1 = previous compiled build
N+1= next compiled build
We don't flight till we can update from n-1 to n to n+1— Dona Sarkar (@donasarkar) March 7, 2017
So while we’re close to a new build, we’re not there yet, but stay tuned to OnMSFT tomorrow and we’ll hopefully have better news!
