Minecraft Dungeons: Cross-play support coming later this year, Howling Peaks DLC and Season Pass announced

Whilst the original Minecraft game took centre stage at the virtual Minecraft Live event today, Minecraft Dungeons wasn’t left out. But rather than boring you with all of the backstory, let’s get right into what was announced for Minecraft Dungeons.

Cross-play support

Cross-play support is coming to Minecraft Dungeons, allowing you to play friends regardless of the platform they’re on. Console wars can become a thing of a past as far as Minecraft Dungeons is concerned.

What’s more, cross-play will be coming as a free update in November this year.

Howling Peaks DLC

The next DLC for Minecraft Dungeons has been announced, and is being called Howling Peaks.

As part of this new pack of content, a new boss will be entering the Dungeons, the Tempest Golem. In addition, a free update, Apocalypse Plus, will add 20 new difficulties after Apocalypse VII. This will bring new enchantments, and increase the maximum power that characters can attain.

The new DLC is coming in December this year. That’s all we know for now, but expect more as we get closer to launch.

Season Pass

Alongside the new Howling Peaks DLC, a Season Pass is being made available for the game in December, allowing players to get their hands on all of the Minecraft Dungeons DLC.

Are you looking forward to being able to play with friends regardless of their gaming platform of choice? Let us know in the comments below.
