Microsoft has been working on its first Microsoft Store in London for some time now, with previous reports suggesting the retail could open as early as this summer. Now as it turns out, the Redmond-based tech giant has verified that it will officially open its doors to the public on July 11, 2019.
The store is located on Oxford Circus, and the company says that its total space will be almost 22,000 square feet among the combined three floors. The store will offer interactive zones, which are “surrounded by immersive video walls running throughout the store.”
Additionally, many fellow Londoners will also be able to take advantage of being able to get hands on with Microsoft’s premium Surface line of devices, plus other Windows devices, Office, Xbox One, gaming PCs, HoloLens, among others. For those who are new to the Microsoft ecosystem, the store also has its own Answer Desk which offers tech support, training, repairs, and general advice.
Microsoft definitely sees some opportunity in the U.K. as well as other parts of the world. This is the first store within Europe, with the only other location outside North America being in Sydney, Australia. Now that the company is finally dipping its toes in new waters, many users who wouldn’t otherwise consider a Surface device or a Windows Mixed Reality headset will finally have the chance to see everything the company has to offer.
