Microsoft is set to introduce a modern font picker experience to its Office suite of apps. The redesigned font picker tool will allow users to bookmark their favorite fonts and sync them across all platforms, and that includes distinct styles available for a specific font family.

Currently, Microsoft Office users who want to choose a specific font have to scroll through a long list or manually type its name in the search box, which isn’t really convenient. “Microsoft Office modern font picker is a completely reimagined experience for Office,” the company explained on the Microsoft 365 roadmap.

In addition to the ability to pin favorite fonts, the new modern font picker will also be able to notify users about used, missing, and embedded fonts in a document. Users will also be able to see from the Office Fonts section which fonts are available on all platforms and don’t need to be embedded in a document.

According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the refreshed font picker in Office will begin rolling out in Microsoft Word later this month. Let us know in the comments if you think this new feature will help you save time when writing documents.
