Microsoft Whiteboard, the company’s freeform digital canvas for Windows 10 and iOS devices will soon give birth to a new version tailored for the classroom. Called Microsoft Whiteboard for Education, the app will soon allow teachers and students to collaborate on an infinite canvas.
Whiteboard for EDU will launch first on Windows 10 devices and iPads, and it will support pen and touch input in addition to keyboard and mouse. The app will also integrate with OneNote Class Notebooks, allowing teachers and students to save their boards in Microsoft’s popular note taking app.
There are no images of the app yet, but Microsoft announced that Whiteboard for EDU will support different background colours including the upcoming “blackboard” mode, different ink styles and colours, an “Ink Beautification” feature to improve the readability of your notes, as well as education-themed stickers. Whiteboard for EDU has no ETA yet, but you can join an official Facebook group to be notified about its availability.
